The town hall in Bückeburg was completed in 1906. Usually, festive were to take place in the large hall. Nowadays it is used for council meetings. This building is under monument protection, which is why the building fabric may not be changed nowadays. In the 70’s, renovations were carried out ruthlessly and important decorative elements were damaged and removed. The reason for the latest renovation was the bad acoustics, unsuitable lightning and the digital equipment of the hall. It should finally be able to be used in a contemporary manner.
A canvas ceiling solution and acoustic panels would have improved the acoustics, but hidden the historic features. Therefore, the best solution was to install our DESCOR® system with AKUSTCO® textile. This way, elements such as the historic ceiling and frieze remain visible. AKUSTICO® is a sound absorbing fabric with a very high abrasion resistance. It is available with individual digital print.
The exterior of the town hall was built in the Weser Renaissance style, however, Art Nouveau elements are expressed in the rooms of the building. A Cascade Green was deliberately chosen with referents to the Art Nouveau style. As an eye-catcher, motifs of the city were printed on our AKUSTICO® textile wall.
