The lofty staircase of Villa Lantz tells of a long tradition. The originally preserved floor with its stylishly patterned tiles and the old wooden stairs exude the charm of old times. The elaborately stuccoed aedicules give an idea of the zeitgeist of a bygone century. Late classicist designs are expressed here in their application and embody the lifestyle of the upper middle class at the beginning of the 19th century.
The digitally printed wall and ceiling coverings of the DESCOR® system by PONGS® form a contemporary contrast. The design is based on patterns from Brand Van Egmond. These, in turn, have been reinterpreted by Helena Lautenbach: now they look like a charming mixture of stucco and modern flourishes. They let a completely new shadow play appear on the walls of the large, bright staircase.
Not only the design templates for the DESCOR® textile stretch walls come from Brand Van Egmond, but also the Kelp Element hanging lamp with copper coating. This light element shines as a big highlight and attracts everyone’s attention. “Frivolous and lighthearted, inspired and energetic. The bent and curvy kelp dance through the air. The light sparkles warmly like in a crackling open fire, which brings an exhilarating feeling to every room”, Brand Van Egmond.
